Seaside cottage holidays in Wales

Wales is superb for holidays of all types and especially good for seaside holidays because it has so many safe Blue Flag beaches and an extensive coastline for such a small country.
Seaside destinations in Wales you may wish to consider:
Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire is considered by some the best beach destination in Wales. Not only are there superb safe sandy beaches but also the scenic coastal path and wonderful sea views.
Whitesands Beach In St Bride's Bay, Pembrokeshire, offers a mile long stretch of clean sand.
Barafundle Bay in Pembrokeshire is managed by the National Trust and although a lovely sandy beach with sand dunes, it is steeply shelved. Broadhaven South is another good beach with majestic cliffs.
Twitchers should book the boat for a trip to the nature reserve on Skomer Island to view birds in their natural habitat. Grassholm and Ramsey Island are other locations for bird watching and even spotting whales, porpoises and seals off the coast between April and July.
The Gower Peninsula is a well known Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in south Wales. The beach at Rhossili Bay is 3 miles long and a favourite location for surfers.
Seaside Cottages in north Wales :
North Wales is convenient for people who live in the north of England and the West Midlands because it is within an easy drive, which is what you want when the car is loaded to the gunnels with children and their associated paraphernalia. There is only so long anyone can stand of singing songs and playing 'I spy'.
There are numerous broad sandy beaches in north Wales, the best known are Rhyll and Prestatyn. Llandudno is a popular resort with a pier, esplanade and plenty of entertainment although the beach is shingle; not good for children who like to play with sand. There are various other smaller seaside resorts along the north Wales coastline. Anglesey deserves a special mention because it is a peaceful holiday haven with various good sandy beaches edged by nature reserves. For many, Anglesey offers that old-fashioned seaside holiday with an emphasis on sand and paddling, walks in the countryside, a bit of cycling and less modern electronic entertainment.
